Estes Construction a Finalist in Master Builders of Iowa's Annual Masters Award
Estes Construction was a finalist in the 2006 Masters Award handed out by the Master Builders of Iowa (MBI). The Masters award was created to recognize the exceptional efforts of a construction team in executing the process of completing a project. There is an award handed out to the Master of a project that totaled less than $1 Million, $1 Million to $10 Million and over $10 Million. This year Estes was the only company to be a finalist in two of the three categories.
The Clarissa C Cook Hospice House was a finalist in the $1 Million to $10 Million category. The task for the Clarissa C Cook Hospice House was to construct a 25,000 square foot facility that would house patients needing end of life care. The main reason Estes was chosen as a finalist for the Masters Award is because Estes Construction paved the way for Hospice healthcare by developing innovative techniques, equipment, materials and the state-of-the-art advancements that will establish the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House as the model for future Hospice projects.
The U.S. Courthouse was one of three finalists for the over $10 Million category. The goal of the US Courthouse renovation in downtown Davenport was to restore the Courthouse to its original 1930s art deco style. By working closely with the General Services Administration, Estes was able to meet the various challenges of the project and was given the esteemed recognition of being a finalist for the Masters Award.
